Belief in Angels

Angels are supernatural creatures or heavenly beings mentioned many times in the Qur’an or hadith. They have no free will. They do only what God asks them to do.They are called ‘mala’ikah’ in Islam. They are servants of Allah, and we should not worship them.Belief in angels is the second of the six (6) Articles of Faith in Islam.

The Articles of Faith, as treated in Book 1, are:

  1. Belief in Allah (SWT)
  2. Belief in Angels
  3. Belief in Divine Books
  4. Belief in the Prophets
  5. Belief in the Judgement Day
  6. Belief in Allah’s (SWT) predestination (whether good or bad)

Just as humans are made from sand, angels are made from light.

They can transform to human beings if Allah (SWT) permits it.
