Commentary
The Surah, which is chapter 101 of the Qur’an, derived its name from the first Verse and was revealed in Makkah. It contains eleven verses. In this Surah, Allah describes the Day of Judgement as the day of striking when everything on the earth will cease to exist, only the Face of Allah will forever remain. On this day, when everything comes to a halt and an ultimate end, a new life, which is true and permanent, will begin. Also, every soul that ever lived on the surface of the earth will be raised from their graves to account for their earthly sojourn and each soul shall be judged, rewarded or punished according to his activities on the earth. Allah, the Judge, will not wrong any Soul in His divine judgment.
